A new WhatsApp update for Android users is expected soon and its name is interesting – 2.24.21.31 beta.
This update is mainly comprised of a new feature where the user can search for images directly from the web, a major enhancement dedicated to enhancing the users’ experience and sharing knowledge in this digital age.
With this functionality of the app, there will be a way through which the users will be able to confirm the originality of the images they receive especially now that fake images and images that depict misleading information are being spread all over the world.
If the users select the search option, the app will upload the given image securely to Google. This process will help users find similar images or other sources that would help him or her to give more context or information.
This feature is helpful for everyone who often receives messages or pictures forwarded by friends so can easily determine if such information is genuine or it is fake.
In this new update, WhatsApp does prioritize user privacy. The app makes certain that on completion of searching, None of the images is stored or processed within the application.
While analyzing the picture, it does not appear anywhere, including in Google; thus, it eradicates the main concerns and worries regarding the security and anonymity of the user.
In addition to the image search feature, WhatsApp is also working on another functionality designed to enhance user safety: reasonable credibility to evaluate the links placed in messages that often contain forwarded scams.
This will also help with providing users with means and ways to detect materials that may be malicious or misleading with their intent to use.
WhatsApp Beta 2.24.21.31 image search feature is not yet implemented but should be available in the review with the next update.
As this convenient application advances, people will increasingly receive more information to help them address the changing environment of the World Wide Web.
